We understand that there are people who are mad that Governor Abbott ended the mandates put into place in March 2020. We as a business understand both sides of the argument. We respect both sides and as a small business appreciate the freedom of being allowed to make our own decisions as we see fit, not what someone in another part of the country dictates.
With that being said, and understanding the general publics stance on masks. We feel that your personal decisions should be respected. We will not ask you to wear or remove a mask when entering our facility (mask optional); remember it is your choice. We will continue to recommend that you wear a mask in our smash room to protect you from the dust that is created and the unknown pathogens that travel on that dust.
Additionally, we will continue to operate by appointment only. We will also continue to follow CDC recommendations for cleaning and sanitizing as are now part of our standard procedures. We are sure as time progresses, not much else will change. Stay safe.
There are a few policy changes that take effect immediately. These changes are to ensure the safety of our guests, and improve our operational services for our guests.
No Crocs shoes will be allowed in the smash room.
The reschedule/Cancellation fee has changed from $10.00 to $20.00.
We require that you provide a valid credit/debit card in order to set and hold your appointment. If you remove your card from the Square payment system prior to your appointment, your appointment will be cancelled and the time slot will be made available to the first person who places and keeps their card on file until their appointment. Employees do not have access to the card information at any time, and we do not charge your card until you present it at the time of your appointment, unless you no-show or reschedule/cancel within 3 hours of your appointment.
We will permanently continue to operate by appointment only until Covid-19 is no longer a threat to the safety of everyone’s health. Our availability will be based on the season. In an effort to ensure that all our employees have at least one day for their family, we will be closed on Mondays.
We quietly celebrated our one year anniversary on December 13th, 2020. While for many, this is nothing special. For us, it marks something absolutely amazing. We didn’t think that we would have survived a two month closure with the number and age of our competitors. Yet we did, and we grew from the closures to become the oldest Rage Room in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
We are humbled by the support we receive from our guests; many of whom drive over an hour to visit us. It is because of this support we have hit many of our goals ahead of the time we had planned it would take. To keep the moment of growth going; we are working to be able to expand in 2021. Our plans are to expand our current location, open a second location, and begin offering new entertainment options for your visit.
We look forward to seeing all our supporters in 2021 and new faces as well.
Smash N Bash has spent the better part of the past year collecting waivers and signatures on paper. This will no longer be the case. Effective November 2nd, 2020 our waiver and release now is available to be signed online. This information will be stored by a 3rd party securely in the cloud. We will no longer accept paper waivers beginning November 27th, 2020 (day after Thanksgiving).
Guest should be able to access our waiver & release form on any mobile device or computer. For those of you who still wish to print off our waiver you may do so; however, we will not accept them after the 27th.
We will begin requiring ID to be presented for everyone who does not have their QR code on their mobile device. This will enable us the ability to look up any archived waivers.
We will be making some changes over the next few months. We hope that these changes will be for the betterment of the guests experience. Our changes include a remodel and expansion of our existing facility. Secondly, a change in our operational hours during weekdays will take effect in December. Finally, we have begun negotiating for a lease on a second location to be announced later.
As part of our remodeling process we may close for a short period of time (during weekdays), to complete remodeling work. This work will include the addition of a second smash room, a new and improved seating/changing area, finally we will be moving and increasing the size of our splatter room to accommodate more people. This will cause us to also move our entrance to Suite D.
Our hours of operation will change in an effort to be available for more guests during the evening times. New Hours will be as follows. Note: We are still determining the start date for the new hours.
We knew this may occur with any of our vendors. Our TV vendor has run into difficulty in obtaining additional TVs. This has caused us to restructure some of our offerings.
Effective September 5th, 2020 we have eliminated the Taste Test package from our offerings. We also restructured our larger packages (Rajin , XL Beast Mode & Bash) by adding more mediums and reducing the number of TV’s. We hope that this slow down for our vendor is temporary, as we enjoy providing the most smash for your money.
In the meantime, in the event the vendor remains unable to provide what we need; we have begun searching for additional vendors. We hope to resolve this issue as soon as possible in order to return to our original package structures.
Todays cultural and political environment is a supercharged powder keg about to explode. While we may personally agree or disagree with the prevailing events of the day, we leave our beliefs at the door. Our vision for our facility is that each and every person who walks through our door enters a judgement free zone.
We can appreciate everyone for being a human being. We will continue to strive to treat each and every person with respect and admiration they deserve
Effective March 18th, 2020 we were forced to shut our doors to the public over a fear of a rapidly spreading virus. Having nothing but time on our hands, we decided to study the virus to ensure that we can protect ourselves and our guests. After hours and hours of studying viruses and how to combat them; we determined that everything we have done from the beginning is what everyone is considering the “new normal.”
Basically, it is back to business as usual for us!
We did discover that since we are in Texas, that most likely the virus spreading will substantially slow as the temperatures rise. Which means in the matter of days the virus will either need to mutate or it will begin to weaken. Either way we will continue to offer hand sanitizer and ask that you bring your own dust masks. I am sorry we still are not able to get any masks from our supplier since we have been deemed unessential.
The great news is that we have begun offering splatter paint. Not only is it fun, it has become one of our most popular featured activities! While we were exclusively a rage room facility, we felt we were underserving our target audience. Now, with the painting, we feel that we are able to be more family inclusive.
Which is exactly how we would like to see the “new normal” to become for us. More inclusive of all ages.
We are going to 50% operating occupancy. This means we will be allowing parties of up to 10 people to come into our facility at a time. We will still only be operating by appointment only, as this may become a permanent feature of our business.
Update Effective May 10th, 2020
We will begin requiring prepayment for your visit in order to set your appointment. This is partly in response to the excessively large number of cancellations and no shows since we reopened May 1st, 2020. Only $10 is non-refundable to cover our cost of accepting the payment and issuing a refund if necessary. If you are not sure which package you are wanting, select “Not Sure Yet” to reserve a 30 minute time slot. We will collect the nonrefundable portion of the prepayment and reserve your time selection. We will then give you $10 credit towards whichever package you select on your arrival.
Effective May 1st, 2020
We will begin accepting reservations for our facility irrespective of any governmental orders or decrees. We believe that the information being provided from our governmental officials is inaccurate and incomplete and can no longer be considered relevant to the actual situation in Texas.
The inconsistent reporting of actual positive cases of Covid-19 from a lack of testing, selective testing; inaccurate reporting of cause of deaths because of not completing autopsies, to delays in reporting test results have caused us to come to our decision. We understand that many of you will not support our decision and we respect your right to stay home, please respect our right to return our lives to some semblance of normalcy.
We will be implementing the following rules during the transitional period of reopening to full opening by the government. We ask that you limit your group size to four (4) people or less. We will require that you have on a face mask to enter our facility. Additionally, we will only limit one group in our facility each hour we are open.
This should allow us time to clean and disinfect our counters, doors, and other exposed surfaces. If you have sensitive skin, please be aware that we will be using copious amounts of disinfectant in our facility which may agitate sensitive skin. We will be providing nitrile or vinyl gloves for our customers to use to avoid touching exposed surfaces.
